Biography

Yasir is a Program Manager at Global Health Focus (GHF), spearheading strategic partnerships and innovative programs in the Middle East. Currently, he is leading the GHF University Excellence Program, an initiative aimed at fostering academic collaborations and excellence in global health education and research. In addition to this, Yasir serves as the key liaison for the Global Health Emerging Leaders program in the region, empowering young leaders to drive positive health outcomes and contribute to sustainable development through research and innovation.

As a seasoned public health researcher, Yasir continues to play a pivotal role as the Team Lead for Health Policy Research at GHF and holds the position of Senior Public Health Researcher at the Sudanese Medical Research Association. His commitment to advancing public health is reflected in several successful initiatives in leading organizations [the University of Khartoum, Ahfad University, Omdurman Islamic University (Sudan),  Alexandria University (Egypt), King Fahad Medical City (Saudi Arabia), and the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC-Libya)]. Yasir was honored with the esteemed HNAP-Young African Scientist Award by the World Health Organization Regional Office for Africa.

Yasir also serves as an Associate Editor for the Public Health Challenges journal, where his meticulous approach and profound understanding of public health issues have played a key role in maintaining the journal’s high standards. Furthermore, he actively contributes to the journal’s outreach strategy, particularly in the Middle East and North African regions, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange.

With a passion for nurturing the next generation of global health leaders, Yasir’s involvement in the GHF University Excellence Program and the Global Health Emerging Leaders initiative exemplifies his commitment to building a sustainable and impactful legacy in the realm of public health research.
