Global Health Pharmacy Workshop

This two-day course introduced theories and concepts including current trends, issues, challenges and debates in global health to provide a critical understanding of the determinants that shape the current global health situation and the important role expected of pharmacists to play. 

Topics of focus included Health Systems and Medicines, Global Policy and Essential Medicines, Global Access to Medicines, and Careers in Global Health Pharmacy. 

As part of the course in understanding the role of pharmaceutical companies in global health, a visit was arranged to the Chemical Company of Malaysia (CCM) Pharmaceuticals Division as a case study thus providing an insight into global health logistics, policy dynamics, research and development, globalization, etc.
