Aniekan Ekpenyong provides strategic direction, coordination, and oversight of the programmes run by GHF across the African continent. Previously, he pioneered the NCDs Practice Transformation Programme at the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP), the Netherlands, to support Low-and-Middle Income Countries (LMICs) to introduce changes to pharmacy practice in response to priority healthcare needs related to cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, asthma/COPD, cancer, mental health, and others. 

He holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from University of Uyo, Nigeria, and a Masters in Global Health Policy from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. He is currently a Postgraduate Researcher in Healthcare Leadership and Evaluation at Edge Hill University, United Kingdom as well as an Associate Tutor at the Medical School.

Aniekan is passionate about youth leadership and development and is committed to raising and mentoring the next generation of leaders in Africa who would contribute to the healthcare and development needs of their communities.
